Lumen Nature Retreat – Luxury Glamping in New Hampshire

As we were looking for an escape from the city for a weekend, we came across this beautiful Glamping property, Lumen Nature Retreat in New Hampshire. The idea of spending some time in the middle of nature sounded really exciting to us as we both love such experiences.

So, we drove to the to the famous White Mountains, where this glamping site is located. And it turned out to be one of our best glamping experiences!

Here are few of the things we would like to share about our glamping stay at Lumen Nature Retreat.

Glamping in an A-Frame Tent

Among different options to choose from, we stayed in this gorgeous A-Frame Tent, which was situated just next to a beautiful pond. We were really excited as this was our first time staying in an A-Frame Tent and it was fun as well as a relaxing stay for us.

Personally, I liked how the tent was tugged between the trees overlooking the pond – a perfect setup for a glamping stay. We stayed here at the end of September 2022 (Early Fall).

Glamping

The tent was equipped with almost everything we needed. A comfy queen bed with fresh linens and comforter made sure we had a good night’s sleep. Lanterns and atmospheric lights were provided which made it easy to navigate after dark.

A propane heater which kept us really warm as it got chilly at night. Trust me, this is one of the most important accessory needed when glamping in the Autumn Season!

And, a portable battery charger was provided as well where we could charge our cell phones, camera batteries and other devices.

A full camping kitchen kit and utensils were provided as well. A propane stove with butane canister was included too! In the morning, we woke up sipping a hot cup of coffee which was provided complimentary (along with the tea bags !)

Outside the tent, we had a picnic table, a cooler (you read it right!), two relaxing chairs, a modern fire pit and the best part – A hammock to relax or may be to read a book.

Also, we saw a sky full of stars right above our tent site, still can’t believe! It was an amazing sight to witness. We were really happy to capture some images for our memories.

About the property

The Lumen Nature Retreat is a contactless property and we received all the details about our stay before hand over an email which was really convenient and hassle free.

Other then A- Frame tents, Lumen Nature Retreat also offers Luxury Safari Tents and rustic camping sites.

The location of Lumen Nature Retreat is perfect for anyone interested in exploring the famous White Mountain National Forest especially during Fall season. You can drive to the famous “Kanc” or the Kancamagus Highway and the gorgeous Franconia Notch State Park in less than 15 mins!

Lumen Nature Retreat is open between May and October. For more details & bookings check out their website here

Facilities

The facilities provided by Lumen Nature Retreat were really impressive. There is a common lawn area with plenty of adirondack chairs and a firepit. Also, we really enjoyed playing a round of cornhole which was kept on the lawn.

But one thing which really caught our attention are the bathhouses (separate for male and female) which is climate controlled – How cool is that! Definitely this is one of the most beautiful, clean and maintained common bathrooms we have ever seen.

The property also has a water filling station so you just need to bring your own bottles. There is also a sink to wash the dishes. (What else you need for a perfect glamping or a camping stay!)

If you are looking to set up a campfire, either bring your own firewood (buy outside) or you can buy firewood at the property which will cost $10 per bundle. You can pay by cash at the cash box placed near the firewood or Venmo them.

We bought a bundle at the property itself and fired it with the fire starter included with our stay. We roasted marshmallows over the campfire and prepared ourselves some delicious hot chocolate, which we enjoyed over fun-filled conversations.

Also note that there is no WiFi but the cell network coverage is decent.

How to reach

The best way to reach the property is by car – so either you have to rent a car to reach here or drive your own. It took us around 6 hours to reach the property from Jersey city.

What to pack

Since the property is located in the middle of nature, at nights it gets a bit chilly so bring a jacket. And as a precaution, we would suggest to keep a bug repellent spray handy since the property is surrounded by trees.

Also, carry some groceries if you are planning to cook. You can buy groceries in the nearby town of Lincoln.

Where to eat nearby

As recommended by our host (on their website), we had our lunch at  StrEatz, a food truck nearby which is open between Thurday – Sunday.  We tried their Nashville Chicken Sandwich and it was yum!

Also, the towns of North Woodstock and Lincoln are just a few miles away and they have many restaurants to choose from.

What to explore nearby

As mentioned above, the property sits right at the heart of White Mountains with numerous natural attractions such as Echo Lake, Flume Gorge, Kancamagus highway etc. If you are looking for a guide to visit New Hampshire for fall foliage, you can check it out here
